Friday 4th February – walk *** – Orwell Country Park Circuit – sunny
periods.
The forecast looked like it was going to be a stay-at-home day, starting
with rain with the temperatures going from 9 to 2 degrees! Surprisingly got
some nice sunrise pics from the back bedroom window before the rain arrived
and the temperature dropping so was in no hurry to get up! Then breakfast
followed by my exercises as the rain cleared and the sun appeared. I then
decided to make a flask and take it to Orwell Country Park on the outskirts
of Ipswich for a picnic on the banks of the River Orwell. I am not keen on
walking at the moment as I have had heel problems (plantar fasciitis) but I
thought I would be OK with the walk down from the carpark to the river. It
was lovely walking down through the woods where the bluebells are later in
the year with the sun shining through the branches high above:) The tide
was very high so we could not sit on the beach today so found a bench over
looking the river for our cup of hot Bovil, we know how to live! Then a
short walk along the river before returning to the van. Then B & M for some
bags of coal, £100 worth of diesel before visiting my Dad for a catch up
cuppa before heading for home. It is looking like a very windy week but
fingers crossed I can get out for an hour or two before the wind goes
ballistic!
